Moving From Another Host

Transferring your account to SGHostWrx can be an easy process if done properly.

1. Purchase a new hosting account with us by going to: http://sghostwrx.com/clientzone/cart.php.

2. Upon ordering you will receive an email from us with the login for new account.  By accessing your new site (FTP/SFTP to the ip address that we specifiy in our welcome email), upload your web content to the new server and begin your account configuration (ie. email address setup, FTP accounts, email forwarding, etc.)

3. Once the new server is tested and functions as needed (using your new IP address) log in to your domain name registrar interface and update the DNS nameservers to (ns1.sirishaglobal.com and ns2.sirishaglobal.com) As soon as these DNS changes propagate all traffic will begin being redirected from your old host to our server.

4. Migrate your databases (for MySQL the easiest way is to export each database via PHPMyAdmin from your old host and import, again via PHPMyAdmin, to your new SGHostWrx site).

5. Continue to check email on both the old and new hosting servers via IP address to ensure that no communications are lost during the DNS propagation.

5. After DNS propagation is complete and all testing shows your new account is fully functional you can close the old account. It is important to NOT rush this step.  You should give your self plenty of time to work through all of the processes on your new site to make sure that you have all of the necessary components in place.

6. Close your old account at your previous provider and enjoy your new home at SGHostWrx!

At any time during your migration, and especially after it is complete, we invite you to visit our customer support area, the SGHostWrx Clientzone, for any technical support issues that may arise.  We offer knowledge-based help and helpdesk ticket support with guaranteed turnaround time of 1 hour for emergency requests, 2 hours for urgent requests, 4 hours for high priority tickets and within 1 business day for medium to low support issues.
